Lorenzo is getting into the holiday festive mood! This pattern is for the Santa Hat and Scarf only.

MATERIALS

Santa Hat
• Yarn: Worsted weight yarn in Red and White
• Small amount of Poly-fil for the bobble.
• Hook: US E/4 (3.5 mm) or size appropriate for the yarn you’re using.

Snowflake Scarf
• Yarn: Fingering weight yarn in Red and White
• Needles: US2 (2.75mm)

HOW TO READ THIS PATTERN

#: Indicates the number of times to perform a certain stitch. If no number is shown, then just do it once.
Example: SC3 = SC in each of the next 3 stitches, Ch6 = Chain 6 times. SL = slip stitch once.
( ) x #: Stitches in ( ) are to be performed and repeated the number of times indicated by #.
Example: (SC1, SC inc) x 2 = you will do SC1, SC inc, SC 1, SC inc. SC dec x 4 = you will do the decrease 4 times.
[ ]: Indicates end result stitches for that round.
Around: Do the specified stitches all the way around the current round.
Example: (SC, SC inc) around = you will do SC and SC inc, repeat these 2 stitches to the end of round.

{Color}: Indicates color of yarn.

ABBREVIATIONS

Abbreviations are based on US crochet terminology
Ring: Make a magic ring, and do the specified stitches in the Ring.
Ch: Chain
SL: Slip Stitch
SC: Single Crochet
SC inc: Single Crochet increase – SC twice into next stitch
SC dec: Single Crochet decrease – SC next 2 stitches

SANTA HAT

Using {White} yarn for the bobble:

Ring SC6
Rnd 1: (SC1, SC inc) around [9]
Rnd 2: (SC2, SC inc) around [12]
Rnd 3: SC around [12]
Rnd 4: (SC2, SC dec) around [9]

Stuff the bobble with Poly-fil

Rnd 5: (SC1, SC dec) round [6]

Change to {Red} yarn:

Rnd1: (SC1, SC dec) around [4]
Rnd 2: SC around [4]
Rnd 3: (SC1, SC inc) around [6]
Rnd 4: SC around [6]
Rnd 5: (SC1, SC inc) around [9]
Rnd 6: SC around [9]
Rnd 7: (SC2, SC inc) round [12]
Rnds 8-9 (2 Rnds): SC around [12]
Rnd 10: (SC3, SC inc) around [15]
Rnds 11-12 (2 Rnds): SC around [15]
Rnd 13: (SC4, SC inc) around [18]
Rnd 14: SC around [18]
Rnd 15: SC4, Ch3, Skip 2 stitches, SC6, Ch3, Skip 2 stitches, SC4 [20]
Rnd 16: SC around [20]
Rnd 17: (SC4, SC inc) around [24]

Change to {White} yarn for Cuff:

Rnd 18: (SC5, SC inc) around [28]
Rnd 19: SC thru front loop only, around [28]
Rnds 20-21 (2 Rnds): SC around [28]

SL1. Break yarn and weave in ends. Roll cuff up to finish.

SNOWFLAKE SCARF

The Scarf is knitted over 15 stitches in Stockinette Stitch (Knit on right side, Purl on wrong side). Use the Fair Isle method to knit the snowflake pattern below. My scarf ended up being 1-1/2” wide x 13” long, plus fringes.

Cast on 15 stitches
Knit in Stockinette stitch for ½”. Slip the first stitch of each row for a neater edge.
Knit Snowflake pattern per chart below.
Continue knitting in Stockinette until 2” shorter than desired length.
Knit Snowflake pattern per chart below.
Knit in Stockinette for ½”
BO 15
Attach fringes if desired.
